Damon only did the pilot for New Girl, while waiting to see if Happy Endings got picked up. He's recast after the first eppy, but he's featured in all of the promos.

Hmmm. It was bugging me, and I went back to check, and the DVD for An American Family is just highlights. I thought it was priced too cheaply to be all of the episodes. Turns out that the music rights are probably holding up the official, full release.
