Lunch, originally uploaded by christopher575.

On Friday I put two packages of seared boneless pork chops, a chopped onion, a box of cornbread stuffing mix, a can of cream of mushroom soup. and 2/3 cup water in the crock pot. Nine hours later, it was like Thanksgiving in a bowl. Really, the only thing wrong with it was that it was missing that nice brown crunchy top that you get when you bake stuffing. Is it even stuffing when you do that? Is it dressing? Anyway. The idea of eating the leftovers just wasn't that appealing because of that.

I decided to try reheating a small serving in a ramekin to see if I could get it to brown. After eight minutes in the toaster oven, it didn't look like it was going to, and I wished I could set it on broil. Then I realized my toaster oven has a broil setting, so I did that for five more minutes. Fantastic.

Thanks! It's from the Rachael Ray "bubble and brown" line.

I want to try this. What does '2 packages of pork chops' equal, roughly?

Somewhere around three pounds. Each package had two really long ones and I cut each of those in half for eight pieces total. Definitely get boneless ones because they will fall apart.

The recipe I followed actually called for cream of celery soup but Garrett got mushroom because cream of celery is "wrong". :)

Cream of celery is wrong. Garret is right.

The cream of celery isn't too bad..but I'm not a fan of cooking regular celery because of all the stringy mess.
But cream of mushroom goes good in just about any recipe that calls for a cream soup, imo

I do pulled BBQ in the crockpot and need about 9 full boneless pork chops (so, basically...a full costco sized package, which has the BEST boneless pork chops ever) just to feed the family.
I'll work this recipe to adjust for size

Things I love about you:

1. you post pics of your foods
2. you are cooking weird stuff
3. you used the word ramekin
4. you appreciate the broiler

I believe ramekins are some of the most under-appreciated kitchen wares around. I love them and have like 4 different sets. They're good for everything! Small dessert? Ramekin. Little bit of sauce? Small ramekin. Portion of warm mixed nuts? Fancy ramekin.

You didn't say if you like my ramekins! I love these RR things with the holes but I hate when she fills them way too full on TV and it looks like stuff's gonna come tumbling out of the holes. Not this size, but like the casserole dish.

Speaking of ramekins, I want to try grits with baked eggs in them.

I love grits...
