Because quail are so cute! They run wild on my brother's street in AZ.

Yeah, my dad always kept a big bucket of bird seed right near our front door (it used to be kept in the shed until the wild donkeys knocked down the shed to get to it lulz). We'd always feed the birds, mostly quail. BABY QUAIL ARE SO CUTE! So cute. Sometimes there'd be dozens upon dozens of quail, it was awesome.

My parents now have a hawk that sometimes sits above their back yard. They never had hawks when I lived there!

Yeah they were common where I grew up, but that was in the middle of nowhere. I even once saw a big horn sheep when I was in elementary school, because the school was right up next to a big mountain.

Do you know how fast quail run? Also, they are brown and everything in AZ is brown, so it would not have even shown up. :(

You can get them at the Asian grocery stores, and this was in my pho from the place down the hill.

i should start making my own pho. have you ever attempted? it can't be that hard, but i wouldn't know what broth to use.

I made some ghetto pho with a broth cube and some stuff. Wasn't really worth it.
