One very nice detail about this vacation

I signed on as a full-time employee with the agency where I work a little under a year ago, and I've accrued a lot of vacation time. This is the first time I'm going on a paid vacation in six years or so. It makes it that much more enjoyable when it doesn't cost twice as much because you aren't being paid while you're away.

this is one of the reasons i prefer full-time employment. when i was a contractor i just never took time off, hated holidays, etc.!
