Even harder and further than yesterday's. Just when I thought I
couldn't go any further, I suddenly got that final burst I needed and
felt great.

I figured out that I'm able to track it on the phone, then sign into
the website and make the route snap to the roads. Perfect. I'm not
going to bother tracking the typical Monday-Thursday ones, because
they're the same every time. You can probably tell on that calendar
that I posted that I just copied those three walks over and over.

4.65 miles! The distance didn't kill me, it was the climbing up through Interlaken Park.

That's awesome! I find climbing (hiking more than stairs) is a great high intensity but low impact workout!

Are you feeling stronger and fitter?!! Every post is a little longer I've noticed.

I hope you're using something (map my walk, etc) to track your distance. There's something so satisifying by realizing you've walked SO MANY miles, all on your own feet!

Yeah, I'm using MapMyWalk, if you scroll back a bit you'll see that I've filled it in back to the beginning of the month.

It's funny you should ask, it was just a couple of days ago that I realized that it seems like the stupid chunky area on my lower back is starting to firm up. And definitely, I definitely couldn't have done these kinds of walks a few months ago. And I feel great. Even just chilling out now, I love the burn in my legs.

AWESOME!

Totes.

Although, one thing that's great about walking alone is that it's not embarrassing when it the real heavy breathing and sweating starts. :)

Dude that's me for a entire hike. I am so lucky Gordon is a little hard of hearing and lets me lead. He can't hear the whimpers of pain and misery...

Have you considered a fitbit? You seem to like the data stuff so much, it might be really enjoyable for you. I am crazy about mine.

I have considered it, but haven't bitten the bullet yet. Does it do GPS or just motion stuff? I've wondered if people's distances that get posted are based solely on steps.

I'm not totally sure how it figures stuff out. I don't believe that it has any GPS capabilities. I'm sure they would really leverage them if it did. But it does seem to have some kind of proximity sensor or something. It also calculates your weight and height with the distance/steps stuff. So a short person will get more steps at the same distance, for example. It also counts stairs and can determine "activity level". So like, if you're vacuuming really hard it knows the difference between that and just walking across the living room. I don't know how it knows. It also knew that I was reaching up cleaning windows and not just standing in the same spot even though my feet didn't move much. It's mysterious.
