Today's awesome walk, 6.57 miles in 2:10
May. 5th, 2012 09:19 amI wanted to go to the Arboretum today, but it's been raining a lot and I knew the trails would be nasty like they were in Interlaken Park yesterday. Or worse. So I figured I'd stick to sidewalks and finally walk all the way to the U-District. I've been considering it for a while, so it was fun to finally go today on a totally new route.
The nice part about heading to the U-District is that there are lots of buses back home if I poop out. But I didn't. I really wanted to keep pushing and get as close as possible to last week's total miles.
My favorite moment of the day was getting to UW Med Center via the long way. It was just a few months ago that I went straight there from home one Saturday morning and that was the longest walk since I started. Today, I did that distance uphill instead of downhill, and it was the final third or so of my total journey. Pow!

Date: 2012-05-05 05:44 pm (UTC)I think instead of doing that, I might walk from home down to Broadway, across I-5 at Lakeview, up Eastlake, all around the lake, then into downtown via Westlake, finally catching a bus home at 4th and Pike. I just mapped it, it'd be 8.5 miles. I think I'll do it soon.

Date: 2012-05-05 05:54 pm (UTC)You might wanna plot it it on mapmyrun, it allows you to do a flyby view once you save it! Or even just have a look in Satellite view on Google Maps. Whatever you run into, It'll be about 95% less people than Greenlake, I guarantee.
