This week came up a little short because I had to fast yesterday
morning before my physical and figured it'd be a bad idea to do much,
but otherwise this has been a pretty great month. I might be able to
hit 40 miles in a single week soon.

that's amazing! have you noticed any difference in your health, attitude etc? you're always pleasant (to me anyway) so i don't know that you were depressed. just wondering if you noticed any difference since taking this up

I wouldn't go so far as to say I've been depressed in recent years, though I will say that I definitely had some extremely low points and was already doing pretty well before I took up the walking. Now that I'm doing it, I'm definitely the happiest I've ever been. I was already extremely happy since meeting Garrett and getting and keeping a job I really like, but I'd hit a wall physically and was really needing that physical aspect as well.

My health is definitely reaping the benefits. I've lost 24lb and my blood pressure is finally good for the first time in years. And while I'm not on any specific diet or anything, my commitment to the walking has led to better choices about food and a drastic reduction in alcohol intake.

Good for you! I walked Greenlake this morning which is just a drop in the bucket to what you're doing but I always feel better afterward. I'll also check out those apps you mentioned. Thanks!

I feel like it's worth another comment to further explain just how happy all this walking makes me. It's a huge difference that's easy to overlook since I was already doing pretty well. I recommend it highly.

Hell, even just the alone time with the music is therapeutic. It really gives me a lot of time to think about things. I also sleep better and am more regular. (TMI)
