Because everything has a camera - in the near future even your chopsticks will have cameras. Get used to unflattering angles - it's the 21st century, baby! (snap, click....)

That angle is also called "Manhunt view."

When I work from home and I'm video-conferenced in, I actually use an external webcam instead of the built-in one.
