So, I am kinda cheap and lazy when it comes to clothes. I hate shopping. I usually have two pairs of shorts and I wear them until they fall apart. I really don't care about always being seen in the same pairs of shorts. It's just not important to me. However, it's time for me to be a little more strategic, because one of my two pairs bit the dust today, and it's hard to get replacements I like (Old Navy) this time of year.

I'm really only posting about it because it was funny. I was getting dressed for my walk and I sat down to put my shoes on, and I hear a little rrrrip. Hoping to at least wear them through the walk so I wouldn't have to take them off, take out the belt, unclip the wallet, put those on the other pair, and put the other pair on, I stood up to see if the rip would be super obvious while standing. It wasn't, so I sat back down.

I tried to lift my right leg to put the shoe on. Rrrrip. I tried going a little slower. Rrrrrrrrrripppppp. I tried bending differently. RIP!

So now I've got one pair. Better start shopping.

Zach likes to wear shorts year round and its funny to hear people ask him if he's cold or why.not wear pants. Shorts are awesome and why stop wearing them just because its winter. I wear skirts and no one asks me if I'm cold

Yeah, I've always wondered why people view shorts on men so differently from skirts on women. It's weird.

Old Navy's a no-go for my size. and I know they're very bad about vanity sizing, hopefully whatever I order from anyone else is a good fit on the first try.

Yeah, it's totally weird. I personally feel colder up top than down below so I am ok wearing a skirt with tights (not necessarily thick tights) in 30 degree weather as long as I am wearing something warm up top. And cargo shorts are sexy!

IDK why I feel so bad about your shorts ripping, I think it's because it just plain sucks. I hate shopping too and when I have something tried and true I never want it to die. I have taken clothes into my dry cleaner for button and rip repairs. My favorite pair of gray capri twill pants had the butt area rip 2 times (!!) and they were able to repair it and now I can wear them without fear of them riping and the repairs look cool.. Is that an option?

I don't think repair is very realistic. The fabric's just old. Don't worry! I do have spares and I just ordered a pair of Levi's and we'll see how that is. Plus my friend Jayme works at Macy's and he's gonna check out their clearance.

Oh, no worries! We of course would like to see everybody, but when it comes down to it, it's always best to just enjoy the ones who are there. Especially at such a casual event.

As long as my core and my ears are warm, I'm usually fine. That's why I also always wear a hooded sweatshirt.

Yeah I've only been wearing mostly shorts for 15 years, thank goodness someone told me about the option to wear pants!

That is another reply I think of and it's irritating when people ask my husband over and over if he's warm and then challenge his answer. JFC people we live in SEATTLE not ANTARTICA!!

Their lone option in size 38, I dunno if that's the look for me. (Or even if I wear 38 in anyone but Old Navy. Sizing should be standardized, dammit!)

their stuff runs slightly big. so if you're more of a "37" than 38, maybe try their 36s. I didn't check their stock.

this reminds me of when we were moving. all the movers were in the house and i didn't realize my sweat pants had a huge hole next to my crotch. ooops.

I don't think any of my boxers are in that bad of shape. Some of them are huuuuuge though.
