I don't think it's necessary to buy cocktail sauce or tartar sauce, because it's really easy to make small batches of those as needed. But I always have two bottles of ketchup around, one regular and one that I've added curry and cayenne to.

Today I just did ketchup with horseradish. It was good! My tartar sauce recipe also has horseradish, so by having horseradish around, I don't need cocktail sauce or tartar sauce.

nice! i need to branch out in my condiment use and stop buying cocktail sauce too. i always add horseradish to the store bought stuff anyway.
