Bummer. The only reason I have to stay on Windows is because of work. Let us know if you run into crazy difficulties--I've heard horror stories but don't know anyone who is using 8 yet. I hate the changes in 7 enough already.
I've been using 8 at home for a while. Mostly what I don't like is the lack of a Start button, which means I'm constantly having to use the Windows key and search for every little thing I want to open. I've read that'll be addressed in the next major update. Fingers crossed.
Also, I hate Metro mode in all cases. I don't have a tablet and I don't need any apps taking up the entire screen.
