I commented in someone else's journal the other day that I miss mornings now that I've been working a swing shift for a couple of years. But I didn't mean that I wanted to wake up three hours early, especially not today since it's quite likely I'll have to work late tonight, tomorrow, and Monday because the supervisor is taking a few days off. At least I got to finish Jeepers Creepers 2 (excellent) and can get it in the mail, so I should get another new movie Saturday.

Mornings could also soon be completely different for me if I get the graveyard shift job I sent a resume in for last night. A graveyard wouldn't be ideal but I think it could work out better for me, especially since it's in an office building a few blocks away. One I can see from my apartment.

Yeah, I know, but look at it this way. Right now I leave my place at 10:30am and get home at 10:15pm. If this was midnight to 8:00am, I could leave at 11:50pm and be home at 8:10am. My workday routine would go from 11.75 hours to 8.33. That's a lot of new, free time.

I should mention, I get home at 10:15pm if the planets align and the buses are on time and haul ass back home.

I can definitely see where a graveyard shift would be an improvement there. I'm a little biased against graveyard shift because of my "year of hell". I worked graveyard checking, stocking and cleaning a grocery store, then going home for a two hour nap before heading to school full-time. I'm not a night owl, so I had problems sleeping during the day. Health deteriorated, grades went downhill, the job sucked, the managers were demeaning. Ah, you know. It sucked, it's over, it's done with... except, of course, for all my lingering resentment. Feel the rage!

But I'd definitely go crazy if nearly half my day was reserved for work hours.

I had a semester at school where I was working 12-hour graveyards and going to a few classes. I try not to think about that semester.
