This has been stuck in my head for days because of the shooting in France. I would like it to stop soon.

I associate Charlie perfume together with Elizabeth Arden, Jean Naté, Jordache Jeans, white Nikes (canvas, not leather) with a light blue swoop, Billy Joel, and middle school. My parents never had the money to buy the spendy-trendy designer brands. I spent my allowance, and later my small earnings, from working for my dad, to buy any of that kind of stuff, but it was always 2nd tier. Not that I'm all damaged or anything, it's just I got a sudden wash of memories of smells, brands, TV commercials, certain celebrities, songs, etc, from that period.

The other night I described to Angelo a scene in great detail, including smells, sensations, sounds and visuals that is conjured up whenever I hear the word "8-track."
