As for the guy on the skateboard on the pool slide, I'm not sure what was actually supposed to happen. Did he think he could just land on his skateboard in the pool?
Good skateboarders can land from pretty decent heights and keep going if there's also some horizontal momentum. I recently watched Gleaming the Cube and it's pretty fresh in my mind. :)
