Damn, I miss alcohol. I've only had one chance to drink since I got here a week ago. It was Sunday night at the mall. I had a foamy pina colada (weak) and a peach shot in a test tube (strong) to start. Then I had a screwdriver, which was too warm. We asked for ice, which is probably why Jason and I were both sick last night. He's still not doing too well.

We moved on to Bacardi Breezers figuring it would be impossible for them to be weak. Then I ordered another one, and Jason ordered a Corona. They accidentally brought him another Breezer, and didn't listen when he said that wasn't what he wanted. The waiter opened it, and when Jason told them he didn't want it, the waiter carefully popped the cap back on.

I said, "Man, I hope he doesn't go put it back in the cooler to serve to someone else later."

He totally did.

If you order a bottled beverage in a nice place in India, watch them open it, and reject it if it doesn't fizz adequately when they open it.

Anyway, I didn't really catch a good buzz, and the heat in the restaurant made me feel kind of sick. I can't wait to get back to my normal, comfortable alcoholism.

When I worked at RR Donnelley, one of my cohorts discussed his stint in Mumbai , and indeed the only time he actually got ill while in Mumbai was when he put ice in a drink.

I used to drink 99 bananas. Here's a handy tip. If you are going to do shots of 99 bananas with your SO, use shot glasses instead of juice glasses.

I drank four consecutive shots (on top of not feeling well to begin with) at our last 21st friend b-day. And I didn't get buzzed until we opened the box of Sangria and I had two and a half glasses. People were amazed. I couldn't do the Jaegerbombs though. I had to back out.

Watching everyone panic after their shots of 99 bananas though was priceless. I honestly can't get enough of that stuff. It's like liquid bananas foster. Mmmmm.
