At my last job, I once had to ask someone to be quiet because I couldn't hear the customer I was speaking to on the phone. She replied, "Yeah, I know I'm a really loud person." That's great. Why not do what you're asked to do when you can own up to it instead?

I find that people really want to adopt a personality trait, even when it's harmful to them. If you're constantly hurting yourself, breaking things, and getting into accidents, wouldn't it be better to make an effort to watch where you're going and take some time to move more cautiously?

Nah, just be an American and say, "I'm clumsy, better watch out."

Oh yes.
One of my friends back in the day could only take onwership for everything. It irked me ever so much.

That goes right along with "No offense, but *insert really rude thing here*".

Saying "no offense", or "don't take this the wrong way" does not take away responsibility for you being a rude asshole.

Americans are so clumsy cause they're too busy craming in doughnuts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. . .

So that's an "American" trait? Are you being assimilated? :P That being said, no counter-argument comes easily to mind.

Stubborness is far from being a solely American trait, trust me on this one.

Some people just like to burn their toast.
It's like a crutch or something.
