Week 10, no repeat t-shirt weeks
Dec. 24th, 2021 07:44 amI'm off today and don't have to work again until January 4th! It's so exciting to finally work for a company that gives us the time off and doesn't count it against the already-generous amount of PTO we get. This is the first year they're doing the week between Christmas and New Year off, so I joined at the right time.
I haven't done any solo travel since Pandemique and since Garrett's not off, I jumped at the opportunity to grab a vacation rental when I saw something online that I wanted to get for him for Christmas that would cost too much to ship. I mean maybe I'm spending the same amount by traveling to get it but at least I get to travel? Makes more sense if I'm not doing anything else. It'll be a late present but that's fine; we have other stuff under the tree.
I had no meetings scheduled yesterday so I only did three shirts this week.

Believe it or not, I didn't set out to do a cat theme. The first one caught my eye because of the purple, and when I was flipping through shirts on Tuesday, I realized I'd better wear the Christmas one while I had the chance. The third one was inside out on the hanger and when I checked which one it was, I realized it made a perfect trilogy.
Speaking of cats, I just gave some up. LiEv contacted me to ask if I'd like to write about Catalyst Cafe's grand opening, since I wrote about it when they were remodeling the space, getting permits, and raising funds. I'm not looking to take on any freelance stuff right now but wanted to check out the place now that it's open, and I thought it would be cool to write the follow up to my own piece. Especially since that first one was really just questions that they answered for me over email.
It was really fun to finally meet and chat with AJ, the owner. I'll share that post the next time I post after it hits the blog. For now, here's a TikTok I made to try to help promote the grand opening, which is January 11th. They're closing for a couple of weeks leading up to that to get a lot of stuff done.
As I mentioned in the TikTok, the bathroom there is full of art donated by customers, so I ran home to get a piece that's been languishing in our storage for a long time. I wanted to hang it in my office for my video conference background, but frames with glass or shiny plastic don't work for that.

So perfect for a bathroom.
