I just ran into [profile] gomezticator on the street, so he got to be the first person to see my enormous new nipple rings. My plan today was to actually get my next tattoo, but the artist I like (Thomas at SuperGenius) was booked pretty solid. We talked about the design I want, he took pictures of my arms, and we made an appointment for next Friday evening.

I've been wanting to get my nipples done for a while now, so I figured since I was in bod-mod mode I may as well head over and get them done today. I was glad I did, because the guy's eyes lit up when I said I want to stretch them to 4ga (my old size) and he asked, "You wanna just start out at 6ga?" I've never heard of an initial piercing being so large, but I actually think it will be easier to heal that way, and I'll only have to stretch one size. He was excited because it was the largest piercing he's ever done, and it worked really well.

We used 8ga needles and followed them with insertion tapers. It didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought it would, either.

Pictures later. I need some time to chillax.

Or, as Christopher noted, mostly on Capitol Hill.

Some us may not know what stretching to xga means if you care to explain. I don't.

The lower the number is, the thicker the jewelry. After these heal, I'll go back in with the larger rings, and he'll shove a lubricated tapered rod through there to stretch up to 4ga, the next size up.

Here's some info at Wikipedia:
