Eight days a week
Jan. 28th, 2019 08:23 amIt's been quite busy but there's a little relief today as my new boss, whose first official day was today, is sick. I have a lot to show her but it won't be right away.
May as well get the bad news out of the way first. There was an apartment fire that claimed one life in an apartment above our favorite place to get brunch, and while there hasn't been an announcement stating as much, I'm quite sure the damage to the building is extensive enough that the whole thing will be torn down.

Obviously the death is the saddest part, but it's a bummer to see so many people put out of work and lose their neighborhood hangout. Hopefully they can move into one of the vacant bars nearby, such as the former Ynot/Forbidden Pub you may have seen on TV. There's an even larger empty bar next to that.
I took the photo of the pub after two lovely walks with Lisa. First, we met up over at Langus, where I can usually be found on Sundays.

The path to Pigeon Creek Beach is closed on weekdays for the winter so I wanted to pop by there. It'd been a while. Too bad the tide was the highest I'd ever seen it there.

I think the walk along the port to get to that beach is just as fascinating than the beach itself.

There's a nice Instagram dedicated to interesting walls in Everett so I stopped by this one on the way home so I could tag them in a photo.

Monday was a holiday and Lisa met me at Lime Kiln Trail for a quick hike there before her lunch plans.

Jeremy Alva put out a call for photos because he wants to draw 100 heads. I love his drawing of me!

One small corner of my barber's crazy shop.

I finally got to be on the Live in Everett Podcast!

Friday was foggy and lovely at the marina. I think it's been foggy almost the whole time ever since.

My mother-in-law wanted to hit the casino on Saturday so I took her while Garrett hung out with his dad and got some stuff done for them. Bella, as always, was a difficult model.

I finally got to try Wendy's Country Cafe on the way out of town!

Yesterday was a pretty typical day back at Langus except I was there quite a while and did 8.3 miles.
