Recently when I subbed at the Monroe Y a lifeguard I hadn't met before that day asked how many of my tattoos were flash, which was an interesting question for sure! If you're unfamiliar with the term, it's the pre-drawn tattoo ideas you find on walls and in books when you walk into a tattoo shop, which are great for times when the inspiration to get a tattoo hits, but not necessarily the idea of what it should be. I told her I didn't know right offhand, but it would be easy to figure out because I keep a tab in a spreadsheet that lists all my tattoos and who did them. Whether they're flash or not would just be another column, so when I got home, I added it.

I made sure to share the link on my shin that goes to my tattoo blog since there was no telling whether I'd ever see her again. And I mentioned that I need to be careful not to get too much flash because my other spreadsheet tab dedicated to tattoo ideas is quite full. But of course because I said that, I remembered a cool tattoo on a flash sheet Nathan at Lion's Paw had recently unveiled, and wondered if I should get it. And Nathan kept posting about great pricing for that sheet, so my fate was sealed.

By the way, if you're interested in tattoos, be sure to follow the artists you like because they just might offer a design you like at a deep discount.

Part of what drew me to the goat was its triangular shape, because I wanted it to be a gap filler in a spot on my arm. I sent him this photo and he said it should probably work.

When I got there and showed him the spot he apologized and said it was too small. I joked that I should have known better than to send a man a picture of a ruler showing three inches, and we both said in unison, "It's so huge!" We picked an open spot on my left leg and got to work.

I wasn't sure how visible it would be but someone from one of my classes spotted it right away. I hadn't thought about the angle where I'm standing almost completely above someone and doing all kinds of movements where my legs go in every direction.
