A lot of people at work call me Topher, which I don't really care for but allow since they aren't calling me Chris, which I don't like at all any more. Some people from other countries call me by my last name, which I attribute half the time to their local custom, and the other half to them not being sure which is which, because the order of our names and our e-mail address formats aren't consistent throughout the company. But I almost always sign emails with my initials (CB) which has lead to my favorite work name, courtesy of my counterparts in Japan:

CB-San

I feel bad a lot of the time because I always call you Chris, and I know you prefer Christopher but you have been Chris in my mind for so long that I have a hard time remembering before it comes out of my mouth. So I apologize for the recurring abuse. I really want to call everyone by whatever name they prefer. You know how bad it pisses me off if anyone calls me Chuck. I don't want to be the one doing that to you either.

Hell, speaking of work names, at Motorola they called me "Wolfman" or "C.H.U.D." and most of the people at the casino call me "The Chad". Thanks Tom Green.

Too bad there aren't any MST3K fans, you could be Chad, the Waffle Waiter.

I've always cut you some slack since you've known me for so long. It's hard to change a name that far into it. Like my Aunt Sue who decided she was Emma when I was in my teens.

"You know how bad it pisses me off if anyone calls me Chuck."

And use the "what's up, Chuck?" a couple hundred times a day.

I used to like that one, too, because I could describe vomit and people would get a funny look on their face. Sigh. It just got old though.
