The Coney Island pizza post reminded me of a commercial for American Express or something like that from many years ago when they were doing lots of commercials featuring people who ran businesses. One of them had the dudes who started California Pizza Kitchen. One of the guys was so obnoxiously smug, thinking he was so creative when he asked, "Why not put chicken on a pizza?"

But it's also sad to realize that, at the time, they were probably one of the first places to think of putting interesting things on pizza.

This is a much better time to be alive.

I am now reminded of the best one-sentence failure I can ever remember. A guy was being sued by Apple for leaking a copy of an unreleased Mac OS and gave an interview telling his side of the story. The first question was typical, "Tell us a bit about yourself."

"I'll try, but I don't want to sound too...pompous."

Wow. Yeah, already failed there. If you can't even think about yourself without worrying that you'll come across as pompous, you totally are.

By the way, I tried to find this interview, but a search for "apple lawsuit pompous" returns 4,060 results.
