I've always maintained that we shouldn't feel bad for watching a funny video of an accident. In a situation where a dude gets racked, or some kid wrecks his bike in a magnificent way, it sucks for them, but the situation is redeemed when you can laugh at it. Yeah, that was painful, but look at how many people get a chuckle. A net gain, if you will.
Unfortunately, what's becoming more popular now that it's easier and cheaper to make videos and share them is stupid people doing stupid things. It's a different situation from what I've described above. Luckily, it often leads to them getting in trouble.
