Bars and restaurants which sell t-shirts shouldn't sell them for $15-20; they should sell them at cost or give them away to their best customers.

Bars should be forced by law to provide free water.

Someone should invent a karaoke machine that accepts song requests via text message.

People who jaywalk while holding kids or pushing a stroller should be given a ticket for jaywalking and should also be charged for child endangerment.

People who take strollers on the escalator need to be smacked.

People who push strollers off to one side using one hand look stupid.

I believe they do...I've never in my life been charged for water at a bar, and sometimes if I tell them I'm DD they'll also give me free Pepsi.

One of the bars we go to a lot instructs its bartenders to only provide bottled water at $2 a pop.

That's fucking insane!! I can see selling the bottled stuff, but they should at least give it out for free on tap. A hot, crowded bar + lots and lots of alcohol - water = DISASTER

Yeah, most of the bars in the neighborhood have a big water dispenser and stacks of plastic cups.

lol, one time I waited in line for about 20 minutes to get water and the bartender glanced next to me. Turns out I'd been standing next to the free water the whole time.

Karaoke bars should also expand their list of songs. I never find good ones to sing.

I've taken a stroller on an escalator before. Sometimes it's the best choice.

agree on all points!

except #3. I don't do karaoke and I don't have texting on my phone, so I opt out of that one altogether.

Everything else!

Strollers on the escalator are totally dangerous. Almost every one of them has a sign saying it's not allowed, and there's always an elevator available. There has to be, for the wheel chairs. You deserve to be smacked! (even if it's more of a spank on the ass, and I'm sure I could actually do a raffle for that and make us a metric shitload of money)

Unless you hate karaoke or freedom, you can support number 3 along with me even if it doesn't help you directly.

I will do an Obama and vote "present" to signal my passive acceptance of your proposal.

I disagree with your jaywalking point.

Bottled water is a packaged product though - I don't find it unreasonable that they charge for it.

They should absolutely provide free tap water in a glass. All bars charge $2-3 for bottled water in SF.

Right, when the parent and kid get hit by a car, everyone will blame the driver.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying they shouldn't charge for the bottled water, and $2 is certainly reasonable. This bar refuses to give you a glass of tap water, though.

Or if the bartender does it, he'll say, "I could get in trouble for this."

stroller issues today?

From: [identity profile] christopher575.livejournal.com
They're ongoing, I just happened to post about them now.

To be honest, there are actually like 3 more stroller gripes that I have, but I didn't want to get (even more) carried away.

When/if I ever pop out a little human, I refuse to use a stroller (unless I'm having horrible back issues). That kid is getting strapped to me like a backpack.

I hate watching people edge out into the street to see if it's clear - with the stroller two feet in front of them.

i almost hit a stroller while biking yesterday as mama pushed her little one right into the bike lane without looking.

Especially when they could just as easily watch for the red hand to change to an alabaster man, indicating it's their turn.

I swear, it amazes me how much people hate having to wait their turn.

Yup, for not watching where he's going.

Then again, the parent SHOULD be using common sense. I jaywalk all the time, but I make sure I'm not going to get hit by, or really even just INCONVENIENCE, a car.
