christopher575: A model on The Price is Right showing that the contestant picked the right price, $575 (Default)

Bars and restaurants which sell t-shirts shouldn't sell them for $15-20; they should sell them at cost or give them away to their best customers.

Bars should be forced by law to provide free water.

Someone should invent a karaoke machine that accepts song requests via text message.

People who jaywalk while holding kids or pushing a stroller should be given a ticket for jaywalking and should also be charged for child endangerment.

People who take strollers on the escalator need to be smacked.

People who push strollers off to one side using one hand look stupid.

I believe they do...I've never in my life been charged for water at a bar, and sometimes if I tell them I'm DD they'll also give me free Pepsi.

One of the bars we go to a lot instructs its bartenders to only provide bottled water at $2 a pop.

Karaoke bars should also expand their list of songs. I never find good ones to sing.

I've taken a stroller on an escalator before. Sometimes it's the best choice.

Strollers on the escalator are totally dangerous. Almost every one of them has a sign saying it's not allowed, and there's always an elevator available. There has to be, for the wheel chairs. You deserve to be smacked! (even if it's more of a spank on the ass, and I'm sure I could actually do a raffle for that and make us a metric shitload of money)

agree on all points!

except #3. I don't do karaoke and I don't have texting on my phone, so I opt out of that one altogether.

Everything else!

They're ongoing, I just happened to post about them now.

To be honest, there are actually like 3 more stroller gripes that I have, but I didn't want to get (even more) carried away.

When/if I ever pop out a little human, I refuse to use a stroller (unless I'm having horrible back issues). That kid is getting strapped to me like a backpack.

I hate watching people edge out into the street to see if it's clear - with the stroller two feet in front of them.

Especially when they could just as easily watch for the red hand to change to an alabaster man, indicating it's their turn.

I swear, it amazes me how much people hate having to wait their turn.

Babywearing is such a good idea. It also helps calm down small babies and keeps them from crying like crazy. I hate that, when I am browsing in a store and then some woman comes in with her upset baby and she ignores it. Also, her stroller is too large to move through the store. Ugh!

Agree

I totally agree with all of these, esp. the stroller ones and the water in bar one. I liked the Pony because they had a water cooler and cups so people can help themselves and free up the bartender.

Yup. I've seen those coolers at Baltic Room, Cha-Cha, and Re-Bar. The Vogue used to have a sink set up, too.

I agree with you on all points.
As stated before, usually, the patrons who ask need it in order to continue buying drinks (i.e. spending more cash and tipping the bartenders).
Note: San Francisco clubs/bars are required by law to provide free (non-bottled) water to patrons who ask.
DC bars (high-end and low-end), at least the boat loads I've frequented in the last seven months, provide tap water (sometimes with ice!) free. I've even been to some which instruct patrons to drink it. I guess some of these guys are just good people, others are great bartenders.

It surprises me that in Seattle--where you have to serve food to be able to even serve hard alcohol--there is no law similar to the SF one.
