Oh I know, it is totally fattening and not good for you at all...that's why I at least try to eat Annie's now instead. Have you tried it? It's organic and has a lot less fat, though I'm sure it's still not super healthy. It's amazing that something so simple as cheese & pasta can be so fattening. Life is unfair.
After a very long time of eating "healthy", which is pretty easy if you cook most of your own food, I just found I don't even like super-processed crap like hot dogs, cheese food product, twinkies, etc. My stomach usually feels icky afterward anyway. Nowadays I avoid anything with a long list of ingredients or a bunch of chemicals I don't immediately recognize.
Actually if one is trying to avoid animal products, some of these preservatives & whatnot are derived from animal sources, however the FDA doesn't require that it be labeled as such.
