I'm with ya on that in theory. But in these paranoid times, that could be interpreted as some kind of sexual threat.
And add the fact that it's a child's toy, and you've got the potential for being labeled as a child predator, if caught.
So while some kind of retribution for cluttering the hall is appropriate, doing that in particular is not worth the remote possibility of being a registered sex offender for the rest of one's life. (And there are registered sex offenders who have become such for doing such innocent things as peeing behind a dumpster when there were no children around at all.)
Maybe there's a theme. Like flip flops, beach ball... tomorrow you'll find a giant parasol or maybe an ice chest... perhaps a volleyball net! Progressive hallway beach party!
I actually told Alan last night that I should block her door with a lawn chair since she's obviously trying to start a beach party. Then I came home and saw the beach ball. So weird.
