the chrome project has been underway for 2 years. I'm more surprised that they got it done in that time! It's a pretty huge undertaking, including a new vastly superior javascript runtime engine (the V8 thing).

I'm running Chrome under VMWare-Fusion on my Mac Pro and it is faster than Firefox3 OSX native.

Yep this is a winner, I just wish they'd have their port to OSX sooner than later. Sad!

Chrome is really refreshing and it looks sweet - and the javascript is super speedy! I'm sticking with Firefox for the time being, 'cuz I'm hooked on all my extensions. And I fully agree -- as a bi-platformer myself, it is sad that a company as forward as Google doesn't release an OSX version right yet. Soon, though.

lots of people internally wanted to work on a port, but they said they wanted to nail the windows version to the wall first.

I won't be using Chrome for the time being. Seems as though it only scrolls down using laptop touchpads.
