This is my laundry room. People leave things here they want to get rid of, but tonight it looks almost like someone died and all their stuff was just left here. There's even more off to the left.

That white thing just to the right of the center about a third of the way up? That's a deep fryer. It's covered with a quarter inch of grease. I nearly hurled.

But how do they get rid of it down there? Does anyone take it? Why not just put it outside? When I lived in SF almost anything you put on the sidewalk with a "Free" sign taped to it was gone within 10 minutes, no matter how broken or disgusting it was. I wish it was like that here, but Irish people don't collect other people's trash, which means you have to try to get rid of it by legitimate means - which is kind of a drag.

We put it in the laundry room so our neighbors get first pick. I've actually gotten a lot of really awesome stuff this way.None of this stuff was awesome though.

Ever use Freecycle?

Have something you don't want, you offer it up.
Need something you don't have, you post a request, and if someone has one they don't want anymore, they'll give it to you.

I've heard about it but avoid it because I have so much stuff and so little room. And if I want to get rid of any stuff I can leave it downstairs. Or give it away as presents, which I've been known to do.
