Automatic commercial updates
Mar. 31st, 2007 06:17 pmWindows popped a little bubble in the corner of my screen a while ago, saying it needed to install some automatic updates. Didn't say what they were or anything. Normally it tells you what it's doing, lets you choose from among available ones, etc. The whole thing took a while because I don't use IE any more and it couldn't make Firefox do what it wanted, so there were even extra steps involved. When it was done it asked if I wanted to pay $129 or so to upgrade to Vista. I think the whole procedure wasn't an actual update, but a scan to see if I had the minimum requirements to run Vista.
