Chili with ramen

My friend Vincent told me to try noodles in chili years ago. Not sure what
took me so long. It's good! Just throw the broken-up noodles right in the
chili, don't boil them first.

I did that the other night with simmering chicken korma sauce. Yum.

I'm making chili today, hmmm... Does it work with a slow cooker?

I'd be weary of putting ramen into a slow cooker because it cooks so quickly. I'd say to be safe you should cook up your chili and simmer one portion of it in a pan. Break up the ramen, throw it in, stir a couple minutes, and you're done.

Hell, it might even work if you just break it up into a bowl, pour the hot chili over it, and let it sit a few minutes before eating it.

this sounds strangely good. I assume cooking it with the chili makes the noodles soft? And do you discard the flavor packet?

I like ramen to have a few crunchy bits so I didn't leave it cooking very long. But yes, they soften up beautifully. I've got the flavor packet in one of my kitchen drawers waiting for me to think of a use for it.

It probably would have tasted pretty good to mix the flavor packet into the chili!

depending on the flavor yeah...maybe some kind of broth can be made later...
