You should ask for your money back if they don't say "YOU HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE, YOUR VAGINA IS HAUNTED (http://www.the-isb.com/?p=980#more-980)" at some point in the movie.

Oh I was wondering what you would think about that movie because of the Jewish stuff. Did they get it right?

Yeah I thought it was funny after our conversation about how these sorts of movies are almost all drenched in Catholic mythos, and here finally is a Jewish one.

So, all the prayers were real prayers. The one the grandmother says on waking up is really the prayer you say when you wake up. The one they read when they start the exorcism (the one about the 4 angels Raphael, Michael, Uriel and Gabriel) is from the bedtime Sh'ma prayer.

There really is a Book of Mirrors and it's about the Kabbalah, but the application of all that stuff to demon possession, and the stuff about the dibbuk, that's all Eastern European folklore. The OT and Judaism don't really talk about the afterlife, and nobody goes to heaven when they die, they just kind of rest and wait for the Moshiach (the Jewish messiah) to come.

I found this interesting essay: (http://ejmmm2007.blogspot.com/2007/03/jewish-exorcism-i-defeating-demons.html)
"To the best of my knowledge, there is no preserved ritual or liturgy for a demonic exorcism of an individual from antiquity. Perhaps the most intriguing source for what an early exorcism might have looked like are the texts that appear on "Demon Bowls" or "Incantation Bowls."
