He could attract some no-self-esteem young girl who is also mentally disturbed and who is or has been sexually abused and thinks she can both fix him and her relationship with one or both parents, and escape her horrific home life at the same time. They could spend their time together having unprotected sex and smoking lots of pot, graduating to harder stuff and just go downhill from there.
