Yeah. That's pretty close to the meaning I got from it.

Except not the last sentence.

Well how can someone think the Bible is the sacred word of God, and then also say "Oh, but this part isn't meant to be taken seriously"?

I get what you're saying, I just don't think it's as simple as slapping "hypocrite" on it and calling it good.

Well, as a gay person, I am kind of tired of having the Bible used to label me a sinner. You see my point.

I see your point that the bible shouldn't be used to label everyone across the board as a sinner.

My stance, is that if you follow the bible, then you kind of are.

I just don't believe that one set of beliefs should dictate that how EVERYONE is treated. It's kind of the same as what you said. You can't pick and choose.

Exactly. And you can't use the Bible to judge me because the Bible is not my set of beliefs.

well...I think a person can judge you based on their own set of beliefs.

But it stops there. Opinion. You are entitled to it.

What a person SHOULDN'T do, is move from judgement and belief, to a call to action, law, harrassment, etc.

Well yeah, I don't care if 99% of the world follows the Bible as their own set of beliefs, as long as they keep it to themselves. I don't go out trying to make everyone be gay.

I'm trying to think of an example, but it's like two people playing the same sport, with two sets of rules.

If you're going to play basketball, and you are travelling, you broke a rule.

But if you're just walking down the street holding a basketball, who the fuck cares.

I don't think it's wrong that hard core "basketball" fans can declare that carrying a ball anywhere is against the rules.

If you're not playing within the confines of the game, then no sin!

I confused myself with that last comment. ;)

I think you get my point.

I understood. And when I said "you" I did not mean you personally.
