This is my first attempt at fried rice and it includes teriyaki chicken, mixed vegetables, a little Sri Racha, and way too much soy sauce. Oh well.

Today's adventure in thriftiness

Yeah, sure, part of me wanted to see a third movie in three days in the theater, but another part said whoa sonny. I'm not working so maybe I should make the most of fixed expenses like Netflix. Turns out I'm expecting four DVDs in the mail today, so just before 1pm I put some clothes on and went to check the mail. 

I saw a sign yesterday saying our elevator would be off for four hours today and unfortunately they couldn't tell us which four hours. Typical, since most people who make appointments will only make four-hour window appointments these days. Well, when I went to the elevator it was off because they were working on it. So I figured I'd just walk down and get the mail and walk back up, but it hadn't arrived yet. 

In case you're wondering why I'd even post about it, it's because I'm on the 7th floor.

So here it is, just after 2pm, and I'm dying to go check again, but I really don't want to go down and find that the mailman hasn't been here. It's those last couple of flights of stairs that really get ya.

I think I'll try at 2:30.

This is what I saw when I walked into my apartment just now. It's the shadow made by the window fan and the space next to it. You know, those fans where there's two small ones.

I think it means it will reach 100 degrees here soon. I'm skurred.
