We're now at the two-year anniversary of when everyone was talking about covid closing in. From February 7-10 in 2020, Garrett and I were in Bend, Oregon to see Daniel Tosh do stand-up. It's weird that his Comedy Central show Tosh.0 was canceled nine months later after running for over 11 years. It was based mostly on stuff from the internet, so there was an endless supply of new material. And since TikTok has blown up so much since then, it'd be even easier to find videos for it now.

I mention it because this photo I took in the rental we stayed in was a little shocking to see.

Here I am two years later and you can see how much I've aged.

Two years

If you're thinking my beard looks longer than you've ever seen, you're correct. I'm trying to grow it really long for the first time ever. No clue why I waited so long into the pandemic to do that, but here we are. I'm also considering asking Garrett to try to cut my hair the way it was in 2019. I see that haircut all the time because I'm wearing it in my viral Tiktok and I feel it looks so much more handsome than the ponytail does. The haircut wouldn't require a fade or any blending, it's basically the same as what I'm wearing now, but with higher sides and shorter on top.

The determining factor would be if Garrett would be comfortable cutting the top part. And then trimming it regularly. If not, I'm not doing it, because I don't feel like spending the money on a haircut every three weeks. Even if I decided I felt like going, which I don't yet.

In other body news, I finally have two pierced nipples again. I had to take the barbell out of my left one the day I got my colonoscopy and had a hard time getting it back in. I knew my old ring would be easier to get in, so I used that instead, and that made me really want to have both done because it's really big and looks kind of weird on its own. A barbell on one side only is fine, but a giant ring deserves its mate.

If you're familiar with wire gauge sizes, my left nipple is 4ga, which is pretty thick. Oh yeah, I have a photo from the last time I had to take it out at the clinic.

Had to get a chest x-ray (don't worry!) so my nipple ring is out for the first time in seven years or so.

This ring and its mate were made for me by hand in 1994 or so when I made the first website for Albuquerque's best-known piercing shop. I don't know that he made a lot of the jewelry for the shop, but it was the owner's brother who made them. They're titanium, so they're a lot lighter than steel ones would be.

Obviously the new jewelry in my right nipple isn't that thick. It's just not possible. When I got them pierced in 2007, we used 8ga needles and immediately stretched to 6ga, which was nice because I only had to stretch it once to get to 4ga. The piercer I worked with last week wanted to use 10ga jewelry, so I have a petite little barbell in there. It really hasn't hurt much these last 8 days, which has been nice. I'm going to be very patient and wait at least six months to stretch it, and I'm going back to her to do it instead of doing it myself.

----

One interesting thing about my t-shirt collection is not always knowing if I specifically ordered a shirt, or got it in a grab bag. I think Wolf Beach was a grab bag shirt, and said as much when my boss asked what it was about. I definitely picked the anti-sports one because I remember dying laughing when I saw it and ordering it immediately. The T-rex one is fun because it's the same one I have a tattoo of, from Dinosaur Comics. I mostly don't select red shirts for myself, and barely recognize myself when I wear it, but definitely love this Star Trek one from Garrett.
