Correction: she got *us
Feb. 8th, 2023 01:38 pmGarrett tested positive for COVID the day after me and that got me wondering if I actually picked it up Thursday night. If that's the case, I was not only testing positive in 36 hours, but I was also contagious in 24 or less. And we barely saw each other Friday. Ultimately it doesn't matter, but it's good to be realistic when talking about risk of exposure. I always hate it when people say, "I got COVID even though I was being careful!" because that makes it seem like they were doing everything they could. Instead, people should be honest about places they were and things they did.
Karaoke is definitely a riskier environment. All that singing, applause, and chatting. The only reason I have any doubts is the fast turnaround.
Garrett's taking his paxlovid and I have one more dose. We're staying mostly separate because it seems like that's a better way for both of us to get better as fast as possible. I'm back to sleeping in my room and we're not super careful about avoiding each other 100%, but there's no hanging out together until we're both negative. That'll be a little easier this evening since I have a podcast recording I'm looking forward to. Not my own, but another Melrose Place podcast I've been on a few times already.
