Eight by six
Dec. 10th, 2023 06:54 amIt's Sunday morning and it's the first day all week I'm resting. I didn't set out to do eight workouts in six days, but a combination of weather, results, and bliss led to it.
They're calling the weather we've had lately an "atmospheric river" and going outside in it is pretty miserable. Kinda sucks that I have to thanks to Tuvix. We have the raincoat, but only use it in the heaviest rain because he hates and it and sometimes won't do the deed with it on. That led to three walks on Saturday rather than the normal two.
Anyway, when I feel like walking but don't feel like being out in the rain or the shockingly low temperatures we've also had lately, I use the track at the Y. On Tuesday and Thursday this week, I did four miles on it. And then later those mornings I thought, why not go to water fitness, too? It's my happy place lately and this is my least favorite time of year, so it makes total sense that I don't want to be anywhere else.
But of course I also miss walking outside, so when I woke up yesterday and saw that it wasn't raining, I headed out for a walk from our place to Pigeon Creek Beach and back. That's 5.5 miles. We went out the night before and unfortunately I have a bit of a cold now, so I'm not sure if tomorrow's water fitness class is on the agenda. And yes, I took a COVID test to be sure it's just a cold. More people need to get in that habit.
The results I mentioned earlier after six weeks of water fitness are impressive. The fat deposits on my lower back are shrinking up and I'm more flexible that before. I switched to bigger jewelry in my guiche piercing this week and was able to see the piercing itself without the help of a mirror for the first time. (And through it, so the thicker jewelry went right in!)
I already have to miss class Friday due to a doctor appointment, so hopefully this cold can just be a minor one for once. Usually when I get one I feel very terrible for a very long time. It's day two and I just feel a little bad. Maybe that's another benefit of all the activity this week?
