christopher575: A model on The Price is Right showing that the contestant picked the right price, $575 (Default)
[personal profile] christopher575
I was actually born in July of 1974, not May of 1975. The 575 refers to the syllables in a haiku. I can write them very quickly, because in college I wrote epic haiku stories with a coworker via email. My half came to over 3,000 haiku.

Where did your user name come from?

I was in San Francisco with my room mate. I met some of his friends and we were talking about music. I told them I liked poppy music. They started giving examples of things and I said I didn't like them. When they said "But it's poppy," my response was "Yes, but it has to be chirpy too." So that's how poppychirpy came out. Then when I moved here, my room mate created that email address for me and it stuck.

I figured it had something to do with music.

My first phone number when I left my parents' house was 899-GIRL. That was just a coincidence. I actually chose the last four digits of the Fuck Phone.

Possibly the stupidest ever: someone pointing out that I am impossible to figure out, and then noting my last name, thinking they were funny. My response was "The irony of that's not lost on me, you cack."

Which is funny, because I'd been thinking of doing it, and when you asked what 575 was, it SEALED THE DEAL.

Elvendude is one of the worst pieces of urban fantasy dreck that I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I use it for two reasons:

1) When I was actually writing actively, it was a constant reminder to not do that when I bothered to think of it.

2) It's a kind of cool name, and I figured someone might as well get some good use of it.

I am a bad robot that was built in 1968.

My old e-mail address was evilrobot6 and I used to use that name for everything. For some reason I switched it when I signed up for LJ.

I'm a huge fan of author Mercedes Lackey, who uses gryphon characters a lot in her books. A long time a go, in a place far far away, I was an avid participant on an online Star Wars fan fiction website and my name was Jedi Gryph Grin. The name "Gryph" stuck even IRL, but when I tried to use it when I joined LJ it was taken. Since I'd just move to Australia, I tacked the "oz" on front and there we go! ozgryph.

pix = pixie

ink = ... well, at the time, it was because I was writing a lot. So, ink = writing a lot. But, now, I have tattoos, so ink could also = tattoos. Which makes more sense currently, as I do very little writing.

My first internet user name for anything EVAR was BlueDiva. I mean, really, what kind of douche was I?

sgt = Sergeant. From my active paintball days I was called Sarge or The Sarge since I tended to organize the games. Later for my military-style Burning Man camp, Chupacabra Policia, I was Sergeant Honeybox.

When I was creating an email address when I was 16 years old, I was thinking of a good username.

I looked down and saw my CD by The Weird LoveMakers, my favorite punk band in Tucson.

I thought, well, I'm a huge fan, so I'll go by WeirdLoveMaker. And I have on all my user names for the past 10 years.

I'm a man, hence the Mister, and my name is Doug. I used to abbreviate it as MSTRDOUG or MSTRDUG, but people were reading it as Master Doug. I'm definitely not a master. I've played one a few times, but it's not a regular thang. MisterDoug it is.
