I'm not planning on weighing more often than once a quarter because my fitness goals revolve around what I do and not what I weigh. I don't have a "goal weight". In fact, I've already accomplished my goal, which was to integrate exercise back into my daily life by walking part of my commute. Now I walk four days a week for over an hour, and two of the remaining days I usually go two hours or so. Anyway, I weighed myself for the first time since March 15th and I've lost 17 pounds. Mostly updating in case anyone doubts the power of a good walking routine.

I've only been doing the walking since the beginning of the month, and I'm amazed at how much of an impact it has. The tracker has helped, go figure technology makes walking more fun for me.

I love the tracking and I love listening to music while I walk and getting pictures of stuff. It'd be boring without the phone and the ipod.

I really need to start doing this. But it's so dang hot out now. Makes it far more difficult. And today it's been haboob-ey.

I think if I lived there I'd have to be a mall walker. I could barely stand it yesterday and it was only in the 70s.

Haha, yeah. Well, honestly, it only really sucks for about 4 months out of the year. Maybe 5, if you walk where there is a lot of sun. The rest of the year it's pretty fucking stellar walking weather, even in the winter.

But right now? No. And soon the low is going to be 90+. So that's when it kind of sucks the most. There's no real time where it's NOT motherfucking hot.

my new apartment is about 1.9 miles from my office, and i plan on walking there and back every day! i can't wait. i walk a lot anyway, so this will just be added to what i already do (i do about 1.5-2ish miles during my lunch break about 3-5 days a week).

That's an awesome daily distance, glad you were able to find a place that close to work.

It isn't about weight or goals related to such things, it really is about dedicating a little time each day to improve your physical and mental health. And for that, you deserve a hearty congratulations!
