New experiment
Apr. 16th, 2008 10:50 amI tried a sip of my friend's americano the other day, but didn't like it because there weren't any sweeteners or lighteners added. I personally prefer syrup and half-and-half in my brew. He said he decided to start drinking black coffee years ago so he could avoid the extra calories after a friend told him it would only take him three days to acquire the taste.
I think I'm going to try it. Beer and wine are two of my favorite beverages, and there was a time when I couldn't stand either one. In two or three days I'll run out of syrup or half-and-half, and when that happens I'll try going black. I don't think I'll actually end up switching, but I'm interested in trying, just for kicks.

Date: 2008-04-16 08:06 pm (UTC)To paraphrase something an uncle of mine once said about his preference for black coffee, "I'm both pale enough and sweet enough as is."
