Another thing that was bound to happen sooner or later while I rip my CDs was coming across some that make me really sad. I just have to remind myself that I'm sad about a time that wasn't as great as I always made it out to be, and move on. And realize that I'm having the time of my life in the process.

The icon on this post is sort of relevant, and is explained here.

I really should work on ripping all of my cds too. It takes so damn long though!

The key is that I finally just started doing it while I'm sitting at the computer anyway. It's not too bad, the whole disc is usually ripped by the time the first song is done playing.

Yeah, and iTunes pretty much does it all on its own anyway... I just have to dig the damn things out, I suppose.

My CDs all happen to be right next to my computer. I barely have to lean, it's great!

I went through my collection of just less than 100 CDs and ripped them all back in like 2001.

Everything went into a MySQL database, and I wrote about 10kb worth of scripts to make the whole collection internet-viewable (http://music.washout.net).

Since then I've ripped just about every CD I could get my hands on, and have made most of my music purchases online. I only buy physical CDs when certain songs/albums are not available online (such as one-90s-hit-wonder Deadeye Dick (http://music.washout.net/album.cgi?albumid=15)).

I'm really happy that you're realizing that those times were not actually that healthy for you. Now is the time to grow (not show). Your hair is already doing it. Why not you too.

PS: I love the Batman facts on Qwantz today. thx, pal!
