My physical therapist suggested sleeping on my futon instead of my murphy
bed. Actually, she'd like me to get a new bed, but I don't see that
happening any time soon.

I haven't slept on this in a long time. I used to escape to it when my last
partner's snoring became unbearable.

Right now it's the silence I can't stand.

Bed stuff

What is wrong with the murphy? You could consider a mattress topper. They aren't too expensive and improved my sister and parents beds apparently. (my dad has a very bad back)

With linens n' things going bankrupt and Macys throwing things out the door trying to make $, I'd think there's a deal out there somewhere. :)

The murphy bed is a very cheap mattress held up by very stretchy strings. No support at all. It sinks down about a foot if you sit on the edge.

Well, my parents used to sleep with a sheet of plywood over the box spring (which is what I had at camp all those years ago) which seemed to work for my dad. I'm not sure if you'd want to order one from Lowes/Home Depot, but it might help.

Anyway, hope the futon isn't too brutal.

Maybe you might need one of those white-noise machines?

:C I'd sleep over with you if I could.

I keep thinking of you when I go to the ATM because they have the braille option keys that also have a letter printed on them, so the one with a C always looks like a :C

When I read "ATM" I was kinda hoping for an 'American Psycho' reference. lol. ♥ mega-sad face of sadness.

i often ( and have for many *many* years ) found sleeping in alternate locations soothing. to this day, i will often choose to fall asleep on the couch instead of "going to bed"

I've slept on my couch and on the floor more than I've slept in my own bed since I moved into my new place.

It's disgusting how much beds cost. I'd buy a new one but I haven't quite reasoned the kidney that I'd be selling to pay for it.

So your back is still sore? I don't know what happened to mine, but the pain just went away in one day. I was crawling in the morning and already jumping in the evening. And it's lasted for a couple of months.

I find the message in your post somehow sad though.... :(

Sending you a big hug, Christopher.

A new bed is a really good Idea. I think the right support could stop your back pain.

My bed is 57 years old. I can relate. Let's find rich benefactors, please.
