[Error: unknown template qotd]I was totally afraid La Llarona was going to drown me in the ditch behind our house. I slept on the top bunk so my bed was right next to the window and I was always afraid she'd grab me through it.

Heh. I used to live not far from Woman Hollering Creek (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woman_Hollering_Creek) in San Antonio, which comes complete with its own La Llorona legend.
